Group Reps
Group reps are a new role as decided by the Student Groups team. If you have any questions about the role, please contact the Student Groups team at: [email protected]
Your group will have an elected representative chosen by group members to discuss various issues affecting your group and ensure your concerns are heard in committee meetings, like a local councillor. Groups must have a group rep to run, and the only criteria are that the rep can’t be a rep for more than one group and must be a full member of both the A Cappella Society and the SU.
Your Group Representative plays a pivotal role in our A Cappella Society, ensuring effective communication and organisation within their respective group. Their responsibilities include:
- Regular meetings with the Group Coordinator to advocate for the group’s interests and concerns.
- Handling communication with the Group Coordinator regarding event participation, including room bookings and technical requirements.
- Ensuring all necessary forms and documents, such as room booking forms, trip booking forms, risk assessments, and budgets, are accurately completed and submitted at least 4 weeks before an event.
- Acknowledging that the SU has final authority on all events, including the right to reject events, or to reject chosen accommodations, necessitating the identification of alternative options when necessary.
Group rep elections will be held in mid-October
