Audition Process
We hold auditions at the beginning of each academic year. Don’t worry – our auditions are designed to be fun and low-pressure! We’re just looking to see where your voice fits best within our groups.
What to Expect from Auditions
Our auditions typically involve:
- A short vocal warm-up
- Singing a song of your choice (a verse and chorus is fine)
- Some simple aural tests to work out your abilities and vocal range
- Optional: showcase any vocal percussion skills if you’re interested in that role
Some groups may ask you to do sight-reading as well. Remember, we’re not looking for perfection – we’re looking for potential and enthusiasm!
Rehearsals and Commitment
We typically rehearse twice a week, with each session lasting about 2-3 hours. As groups prepare for performances, they might schedule additional rehearsals. We understand that studies come first, but we do expect members to attend rehearsals regularly and practice in their own time.
